DCPB welcomes covid19 support from al-maktoum and the resilience fund

Vital financial support from the Third Sector Resilience Fund, administered by the Corra Foundation, has helped to keep Dundee City Pipe Band afloat during the COVID19 lockdown. The Fund provided £1,281.

The band also received generous support from the Al-Maktoum College Coronavirus Rapid Response Fund, which provided a donation of £500.

The band’s chairperson, Jimmy Black, said “Without income from our weekly practices and with no paid engagements, the band would have struggled to meet any of its commitments. This support, along with our modest reserves, has allowed us to carry on offering tuition, online, to many of our players. This new way of working has proved popular and we hope to keep it going after lockdown is over.

“Meantime, we still need to raise funds to keep the band ticking over until lockdown eases and we can get back on parade.”
